Application: MOLFERRUM™ 2S is an inorganic iron salt used primarily as a highly effective source of iron in pharmaceutical and nutritional formulations. It can be formulated into tablets, capsules, syrups, oral liquids, powders and multivitamin-mineral products to help prevent and manage iron deficiency and iron-deficiency anemia. It provides elemental iron that supports normal hemoglobin formation and red blood cell production.

1 Description It occurs as a greyish white to buff coloured powder.
2 Identification
Test (A)
(A) It gives the reactions of ferrous salts and the reactions of sulphates.
3 Solubility It dissolves slowly, but almost completely, in freshly boiled and cooled water.
4 Copper Not more than 50 ppm.
5 Lead Not more than 50 ppm.
6 Zinc Not more than 500 ppm.
7 Manganese Not more than 0.1%.
8 Arsenic Not more than 3 ppm.
9 Basic sulphate Solution that is not more than faintly turbid.
10 Ferric ions Not more than 0.5%.
11 Assay Not less than 86.0% and not more than 90.0% of (FeSO4).

PACKAGING

MOLFERRUM™ 2S is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside and is provided with a barcoded label and a tamper-evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 5 years. Preserve in tight containers.
