Applications: MOLFERRUM™ FG is a highly bioavailable iron salt used primarily as a hematinic in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical formulations. It is formulated into tablets, capsules, syrups, oral liquids, chewable tablets, powders and fortified nutritional products to help prevent and manage iron deficiency and iron-deficiency anemia. MOLFERRUM™ FG provides a readily available source of elemental iron, supporting normal hemoglobin formation and red blood cell production.

1 Description It occurs a yellowish grey or pale greenish-yellow, fine powder or granules.

(A) 1 ml of the resulting solution gives reaction of ferrous salts.
(B) Thin-layer chromatography.
3 Solubility It is freely but slowly, soluble in water; more readily soluble on warming; practically insoluble in ethanol (95%).
4 Appearance of solution The resulting solution is clear.
5 PH Between 4.0 to 5.5.
6 Arsenic Not more than 2 ppm.
7 Chlorides Not more than 625 ppm.
8 Sulphates Not more than 500 ppm.
9 Barium The solution is not more opalescent than a mixture of 10 ml of solution A and 45 ml of distilled water.
10 Ferric ion Not more than 1.0%.
11 Oxalic acid No turbidity is produced.
12 Reducing sugars No red precipitate is formed.
13 Loss on drying Between 5.0% to 10.0%.
14 Assay Not less than 95.0% and not more than 102.0% of (C12H22FeO14), calculated on the dried basis.

PACKAGING

MOLFERRUM™ FG is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside and is provided with a barcoded label and a tamper-evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 3 years. Preserve in tight containers.
